Dean from 4rings came to check a few things over on my car and replace a door lock.

Firstly i'd like to say how impressed I was with the service 4 Rings give. Being a mobile service is great as it means I dont need to take time off work to drop my car off then pick it up again, all the work was done in the carpark. Dean was very helpfull in explaining any queries I had, and I fired a fair few questions in his direction.

Dean diagnosed the 3 problems I asked him too as follows. Some of you may have read some of my posts regarding these issues over the last few months:

1- Alarm isn't arming and DIS shows both doors open when only the passenger door was actually open. Internal central locking switch and interior lights not behaving. Turns out the central locking pump need replacing

2- Clicking/creaking noise from nearside front wheel area when under 5mph. Offside rear wheel speed sensor not registering at speeds under 5mph and causing the ABS pump to activate, which was what was clicking at the front.

3- I asked Dean to check my boost circuit/intercooler for any leaks as I have had some strange fluttering noises when boosting up when the car has just been switched on. No leaks and car feels very solid and putting out 1.25 bar of boost. Fluttering is possibly the DV on the first few dumps (sort of warming up)

Dean then replaced my drivers door lock as the mechanism kept catching when opening from the outside. He had the door stripped, lock replaced and door back together in about 40 mins.

I will definitely be using 4Rings to do my next service In a few months and will definitely ask 4rings to fit me a new central locking pump.

If anyone wants a hassel free service or any diagnostic or parts work done I reccomend you give these guys a try:

The best service I've used so far....(actually the only service I've used, once...lol)

Had the flywheel/clutch done. He came to take the car and did it in less than a day.

Excellent service indeed and will answer all your questions and give you advice.

Same here - tried a local volkswagen "specialist" a couple of times when i first bought my car - they were a lot more expensive than Dean & didn't get to the bottom of the prooblem (even after 3 visits!!).

It's 4rings only for me now and he'll be doing my suspension when all the bits arrive :)

Wow they do sound good. I get your proplem number one every now and then....But it says my driver's side door is open when it isnt. Only rarely it does it but maybe this could be the proplem?

9 times out of 10 the problem is the solarnoid in the door lock and a new door lock will fix it at a cost of around £100 fitted. Unfotunately for me the issue is with the electrical part of my central locking part which is about £320 fitted. Trust me to get the 1 time out of 10 :banghead:

Ahhh....Thanks Westle. May have to give 4 ring's a call! Do you know what radius they travel too. I dont mind meeting him/her half way if that's what it take's.
Thanks again :)

I feel that I must add to this post.

Recently purchased an S3 and it needed the cambelt replacing. Called 4 Rings as a result of the comments posted on here. Quoted me 380 plus parts and fitted me in within 3 days. Excellent service, very professional, and reasonably priced. Also gave the car a once over and told me about a few minor parts that need to get done at no extra cost (top mount bush, wishbone bush and CV gaiters)

This is the icing on the cake for me in terms of their professionalism. The engine warning light came on last night (but no change in the way the car drives) called Dean this morning and he said no problem he can be there on Monday first thing. Called 6 audi garages, with quotes of 200, 220, 350 just to plug it in and they could not do nothing until the middle of may.

I recommend Dean and Andy from 4 Rings to any audi driver out there. Dont bother with the dealers, once they have your money they dont care.

I rang them last week and they were fully booked for a fortnight. Would love to try them out as Ive heard good things about them.

im looking to get my s3 seviced by them in the next couple of weeks once it comes back from the body shop going by what i have seen on heremight even get them to fit all my mods

hehehe

These guys sound great so rare to find someone with such a good reputation, does anybody know of a similar type of outfit in the midlands?!

Yeah i had them as recommended from poeple on here, i had them do a full service cambelt, waterpump etc haldex new brake fluid etc,

I had a guy called Adam who came to me, top service also checked my car for faults and gave it the once over writing down the things that were wearing, so helpful, will be using them again very soon!, cheers Oski

I've got Dean at 4 Rings doing a couple of small jobs on my S3 tomorrow, judging by the reputation they have gained on here and some other Audi forums i'm hoping it will be a breath of fresh air compared to experiences with VAG dealers !

Out of interest, how do they do under car work? Is it all done off trolley jacks or do they have some sort of a portable car lift?
