I am looking at starting to mod my facelift S3. Could somebody clarify whether or not I need an exhaust i.e. Milltek turbo-back to get my car remapped? Can I start off with just the remap?

I am sure I read somewhere that due to the placing of a sensor in the facelift S3, just a remap was not feasible.

I wanted to initally remap with either Revo or GIAC, any recommendations of any local mappers around the Manchester area?

Finally, can anybody recommend a wheel powder coating specialist around Manchester? I want to ensure I'm not visiting any clowns.

WRC for wheel refurb or Jem Tyres in worsley.

YOu can remap it but you would see better gains with an exhaust and air filter.

If you get a non-custom remap, then you can fit the exhaust/air filter after but if your getting a custom map, that will make the most of the mods you have fitted so you must do that after the mods are fitted.

Best Remappers in the Machester area are awesome GTi imo. Top service too. I think they use the APR map.

Their near that Makro place in Irlam - just pop down and meet the guys and they will advise you.

I think the mapping companies ahve caught up with the changes on the facelift car... most list a MY09 map
Revo or GIAC will be able to help you.

Have you spoken with Stattler (autorads) in Sheffield. Everyone who has used them really rates them.

a remap works on increasing air coming in and air exhausts gases going out and boost pressure of the turbo so if you can get an air filter and a exhaust before the remap, you will make it easier for air coming in and going out and the benefit of a remap will increase. so instead of getting, say, 40bhp more, you will be able to get 50-60bhp more

The Wheel Specialist in Manchester are very good (Ashton Old Road).
You don't need a Milltek but it helps. I'm near you - if you fancy a spin out in mine just PM me and I can talk you through it.

Where you from then idgos you neer me at all ?? I phoned up prosport i wanted to try a freetrial revo out they say they didnt do the trial for a sportback duuuuh..

And ive been to the wheel specialised on aston old road to , They are good when mine get to scuffed i was gona get em dont there to..
