We have a 54 reg golf tdi and its a type A and its done 45k miles but no signs of leaks or cracks smoke etc.
Will changing the coolant regularly minimise the risk?
Hi
Have a 56 plate Seat Leon with a BKD engine, not sure what the code is as it is in the garage having the head pressure tested. Oil in coolant was the symptom with mine and lots of oil being burnt. Garage replaced oil cooler first but that didn't solve it hence the head being sent off for testing. Is there any come back for those of us who have had this problem as it is obviously a poorly made engine? How much would a ball park figure be for a replacement head (the garage want £200 to get it off and test it)?
Found out mines a C! Is oil in the coolant a definite sign of the head being cracked bearing in mind the oil cooler was changed?
Right! Its a "B"! Hopefully the good one.
Silly question.. but is this covered by some sort of warranty that the engines
with this fault should have been re-called? If not I am going to be extremely
P*ss%d off and I am tempted to take Audi to court over this. I went for an Audi
because of the so-called reputation of them being reliable and having an
excellent build quality. MEH!
Hi Guys,
I know this is the A3 section, but it appears my head may have cracked on my B7, engine code BLB. Does anyone know if the A, B and C heads are on the A4 aswell?
I am one annoyed Audi owner!!
Cheers,
Chris
I had a warm start problem and changed battery and starter and lot of other stuff. I ended up getting a remap with the hot start fix mapped into the software that was over a year ago and has start first turn of the key ever since
Just had a quick look to check mine. I have been putting off for a bit....just in case. Looks like it's a C from what I can tell. I take it this is the numbers/letters we are looking for?
