remote capable

Hi,
I only had the service key with my car if i buy a remote type key how do i know if it will work with my convenience unit it is a 1998 2.8 quattro.

Check c/l pump part number if it ends in a 'G' its remote capable, if it ends in a 'H' it isnt

one last question can i have a haa key cut off a naa key by some local yocal locksmith.
