Couple of questions regarding lighting

1st of all ive fitted led's to the front of the car (the led strip) they work ok,but if i turn ignition on first then turn the led's on (which are connected to my sidelights) the led's flash twice then stay on as normal.

It doesnt bother me at all but i just was curious as to why?
This also happen on an x5 bmw that a friend had em fitted to.

2nd question is what bulb is fitted to the number plate,and whats fitted to the interior light as i want to replace them with a better colour/brightness than the dull yellow look.

Not sure on the LED strips , but theses are the best number plate lights by a mile..

did you have to solder resistors in? if so what ohm

no resistors have been fitted, they work perfect only when i turn ignition first then the led's is when they flash and only twice, not a problem,i was just curious as to why
