Hello all.

New to this but I'm desperate for help.
My 01 A3 will not start because the immobiliser kicks in. I have to disconnect the battery to reset it and then the car will start. I have just replaced a faulty cantral locking pump hoping that it would solve the problem but it hasn't. Another problem is that my drivers door lock will now lock all the doors but it will not unlock them. Also the engine management symbol on my dash is flashing constantly. Any advice would be great. I really don't want to go to dealers.

Cheers.

if you can go to audi breakers yard and try another brain aka e.c.u unit and see if the problem still there. if it works buy the e.c.u

If you changed the ECU it would definitely not start!

Have you got another key to try? It could be the reader coil/wiring to it, the instrument cluster or the ECU if a second key doesn't help.

This is one of those time where you really need to get the fault codes read. This could be caused by many different things and you'll end up replacing things at random before you get to the source of the problem.
