Centre Console Change

I've got a 99 plate S3 with the single din headunit centre console and I want to be able to fit a double din unit in. Can you get some sort of kit to do this or will a newer car with the double din console be a straight swap or do I have to massacre it completely?

Ideally you need to do a swap with someone who has a double din console as Audi didn't do any kits. Most people dont want the double din unless they intend to fit thr RNS audi kit because most double din aftermarket stereos are a pain to fit.

Dunno for pre-facelift but on facelift you need a different cage and climate control unit although it can be trimmed if you are careful. I went from double to single and involves removing the lower dash trims and centre console to do which sounds easy enough but its a surprising amount of work to do.
