Wheel refurbs, how far can they go?

All four wheels on my S3 are looking pretty tatty since the Mrs passed her test, but TBH they weren't all that crash hot before, so I've decided to get them sorted now she's missing kerbs.

The question is just how much can they sort out? Three of them are pretty standard scuffs and paint starting to blister, but the passenger front has a dent in the rim where its hit something fairly square on. Can that be sorted? If so any recommendations in North West/ Lancashire area?

If it can't, I'm probably looking at new set of four as they are RSTT reps and I've no idea what sort as they were on car when I bought it.

I've just had mine sorted. A complete strip down, weld and fill the dents, shot blasted. repainted and finished. They look better than new and believe me they didn't look good enough for the skip when I took them in. So I would say anything can be done. All this was for £55+vat a wheel.

The company I used was in the south of England so probably not much use to you, but gives you an idea

if they are reps you might as well buy some more reps, think I got a set of 4 with tyres and the rims worked out at £60 each iirc. Most refurbs cost 40-60 a alloy so just run the tyres off/ fleabay them and buy a new set imo

I was going to get mine refurbed aswell for £200. But i need new tyres verrryyy soon! That's gonna cost me about £300 for good tyres. So that's £500 there. For an extra £100 i can get 18's with tyres! Fair enough they'll be budget ones but i'll run them until they go anyway. At least you have brand new different rims!

Problem is the rears were replaced in Jan, the front's last week so I've got four pretty much new Bridgestones. 4 new reps without tyres are £320, so as long as I can get these done for less than £80 a wheel it's working out cheaper to refurb.

The Wheel Specialist in Leeds is pretty damn good. Tell them you were/are a Cliosport member and they do 10% discount as well.
