1989 Ford Fiesta XR2 with a paltry 40k on the clocks.

13" Pepperpots removed and my old Fiesta RS Turbo 14" 3 spokes bolted on

1600cc CVH motor, which was pretty healthy

Then came the project part, out came the old motor

The 15" Mondeo 5 spokes were a tight fit over the 4x4 Cosworth brakes

Still a work in progress but it goes like stink! Already have a Focus ST170 engine to transplant in on proper throttle bodies.

Comments welcome :0)

ooohhh nice! bet it does go, we had a 1982 XR2, loved it! It looks in good condition! impressed!

Love it!!

Had an xr2 when i was a lad, great car, went like stink, and with a suspension kit on it it cornered like it was on rail's no one could keep with me in the bend's.

Sold it for a nova gte, which was faster, but never really did it in the handling dept.

Hope you keep this updated

By the way, st170 engine will be fun, had one a while back, and loved it to bit's

Wow, good stuff mate, looks good :)

i like.. good to see some of the old "boy racer" cars still alive. i always wanted a xr2 up untill i drove a mk2 gti. Still... cant beat old skool, theres a blue mk2 festa running a RS turbo lump local to me. this thing used to keep up with my big turboed, Mapped scooby! I would love to own a little project like that!

Keep us up to date:icon_thumright:
