pause when accelerating

Hi all,

I've had my s3 (stage 1 mapped with a forge 007p fitted) for about a month now, but this is my first turbo'd car so am not sure if this is normal or not.

Basically, if if i go from 2nd to 3rd, or 3rd to 4th etc (whilst giving it some), once I have engaged the next gear and planted my foot down, there is about a 0.5 second pause before I can feel the boost kick in and begins to accelerate again. I am also within the rev range for the turbo to be on the boil.

Is this normal? Whilst I enjoy the rest of the car, I miss the instant throttle response I had from my last car.

Thanks guys, but is there any way of checking if the maf is faulty? If it's knackered, should I buy from Audi or are GSF ok?

try taking the maf off and see if it makes a difference ?

I went to halfords, bought electrical cleaner, cleaned maf. now pause is gone.
