Text messages disappeared - problem solved

Just in case any other members have had this problem.

I use an iPhone and do not use CarPlay. A few weeks ago (perhaps after updating to iOS 12 - or perhaps just one of those things), I lost my text message menu. I lost the notifications that would come up when I got a text message. It drove me mad. The owner's manual was no good.

If you have had this happen, the resolution is on the phone, not on the MMI.

On the phone:

Go to Settings:
Go to Bluetooth:
Go to Audi MMI xxxx under MY DEVICES:
Tap the i in the circle:
ENABLE Show Notifications

Job done.

Must mean the update turns notifications off, which I understand is a old trick, seems to me that Apple has lost it with their iOS updates given the issues that version 12 has introduced...
