Work Hard, Play harder!!
I just wanted to share this information.
Sunday morning i awake to a broken passenger side window, noting stolen, car alarm must have gone off.
Car was parked on the side road, which is a cul de sac.
They bent the window frame where they used a screw driver. Can be seen in the picture.
Spent a few hours cleaning the glass.
I phoned my insurance company who is under written by Allianz. (about 4pm)
They quoted £70 via AA windscreens, i went ahead since i couldn't be bothered with the hassle.
They came this afternoon (Monday) 10:30am
Was replaced by 11:15am
He replaced it with the same manufacture Audi use, minus the logo.
I asked how much would the glass have costs and the likely hood of me doing it.
He showed me his gadget (not what your thinking ) which had the cost on there, glass is about £200-250+ , inc fitting £500+ roughly, i cant remember 100% what is was now, long day at work. I guess that's what the insurance company would pay.
He also said its very hard to replace the glass, the Audi doors only have two holes to get your hand in and if you drop one of the bolts you cant get it out, since it gets stuck in the bottom somewhere, cost about £40 from Audi.
He also couldnt get all the glass out since the hover bits dont fit all the way down the bottom, the roll bars come in the way.
But there are some small holes for the glass to full out from, so over time small pieces will fall out.
Over all, AA guy did a good job.
