Our new B8 A4 was crying out for some bulb upgrades...and after NHN did a fantastic job of retrofitting the OEM Bluetooth for us today I got to work on the lights!

Firstly it was frustrating to have yellow fogs which are particularly unpleasant alongside the DRL's. Swapped them out for a set of Ice White H11's. Anyone with a halogen bulb setup without HID's can also use these for headlights too

And a close up...

Next was to swap out the factory D3S HID bulbs for some 6000K ones to get the cool white colour temperature which is so much more appealing than the factory 4300K warm white. No before pics sadly but here is the after...

Next was the rear of the car, again no before pics I'm afraid but we all know how dreary the standard bulbs are!

Reverse Lights fitted with 25W CREE LED bulbs...these had to be re-coded via VAGCOM which I can do for anyone needing the same and can make it to Kent.

And the Number Plate / License Plate Lights with these...

And lastly the interior...

If anyone is interested in doing the same I am actually the co-owner of www.aurorabulbs.com and would be happy to advise you guys on anything lighting related.

You can contact me here via PM or info@aurorabulbs.com

Thanks for reading :)

The effect looks good, but you do know that by swapping the 4300K HIDs for 6000K, you're losing light output from your headlights?

Yes lumens output will be reduced slightly going to 6000K that is correct. It's a matter of choice, I prefer the look of 6000K.

Good job mate, have you done the rear indicators?
Only bulbs I have left to change are reversing and rear indicators, all other bulbs from Trups (T8ups) a sponsor on here, and look great

Looks great! Good job man

I've got a b8.5 with xenon LED's but my fog lights are yellow, I'd like to change them like you did

Thanks :)

Rear indicators I will be doing today if the weather holds off, these are likely to require resistors to prevent hyper flash or errors but I'll post up when I complete it.

and people will think you have traded the Audi in for a 10 year old Clio ;)

Is there an interior LED "kit" available that throws no errors?

I've a 2014 A4 TDi 150 S Line - no extended lighting (yet!)

Perfect - plug and play I presume? No need for coding?

Cheeky question - no forum discount?

Brilliant! Just ordered. Mod number 1 out the way!

Is there a led reverse bulbs without errors?

There are, these for example which we supply to many TT owners - http://www.aurorabulbs.com/products...high-power-pair-500-lumens?variant=1086997919

You could also go for a set from our CREE range and combine with the CANBUS adaptors - http://www.aurorabulbs.com/products...g-error-module-adaptor-kit?variant=1011010095

...Going this route I'd recommend not going more powerful than the 11W CREE ones, unless you are happy to install proper inline resistors like these - http://www.aurorabulbs.com/collections/canbus-error-cancellers-resistor-modules

Will the first set fit my 2012 A5 reverse without any errors?

Order received on Wednesday after placing on Monday afternoon.

Spent 10-15 minutes last night fitting the kit with the help of a youtube guide. Far easier than I first thought it may be.

Very impressed with the results, makes the interior look a lot better in the dark. You've also got another order from a guy I work with after him seeing mine this morning!

Think I'll look at changing the front fogs next and possibly the reverse lights (these look slightly more complex from your replies above)

That's fantastic I thought you would be pleased ;)

Any pics?

I am looking for brighter reverse lights for my B8.5 S-line as the standard ones dont give out enough light.
What would you recommend?

Well I'd recommend doing the same as pictured above and having them coding out via VAGCOM.

So it depends on a few things...

Do you have access to VAGCOM or close to someone who is?

Or...

Are you willing to fit resistors

If no to both questions you are limited but can still fit certain types of bulbs for Reverse Lights.

Not had a chance to take some pics in the dark yet - will get them posted when I do

.

Yes, I have VAGCOM.
Can you PM me a price and VAGCOM coding for a B8.5 S line please?

Quite a difference !
