Facelift RS3?

If you want the one that's out now order it. No point always waiting to see if a new whatever it is is coming you'd never buy anything.

Very true but if mine gets built in say week 22 and on week 23 they change the production line I will be gutted as its so close. Fair enough if it's years apart but when I'm looking to order the power is in my hands (if I knew if or when the facelift is coming).

It will get face lifted but how and when no one can say for sure until mr Audi announces it to the world maybe they won't do it at all on the rs3 and just stop production until the next model or do saloon only??

Going off the RS6 which was had a slight facelift after a year (different LED lights and few other bits) then it may be very soon. That's my theory anyway

I'm worried about this, my car starts build on April 4th, before the rumoured week 22 facelift.

I've seen the RS3 sedan shots and I have to say I'm not keen on the lights and new bumper so this isn't the issue for me.

What is the issue is if the facelift gets the rumoured 400PS! Now that would **** me off!

I have an 8P RS3 currently so I want this new car to feel like an update, now I find it may be an old model as soon as I take delivery, hmmpphh!

I totally hear what you are saying! It would be rubbish to miss out just for the sake of week 22 to week 23 for example.

I want to know the same as I'm looking to order but which will I get?! Dealers don't seem to know (or so they say).

I only ordered a month ago and was expecting September 66 plate delivery, suddenly I'm now looking at May delivery!! I was over the moon at first but now I have no idea if I will be forking out 47K for an old/underpowered model or not!

Did they give you a build date? I can't see the power being any different only slight updates to lights and grills I would guess.

Yep, April 4th! I have confirmed this is the case with my dealer too. Order will be cancelled if I find out they are upping the power too.

When do you think the details will be announced? All the dealers claim they don't know anything!!

No idea, i should clarify that it's the build date I have had confirmed, not the existence of a facelift if I gave you that impression.

All the discussions lead me to think there will be no 8V RS3 Sportback facelift. Why worry, even if it is facelifted it will be minor I reckon and the TFT dash is not to my liking. A few tweaks here and there doesn't worry me,

I'm with you on the but the most likely update will be the daytime running lights as they got updated on the RS6 only 10 months into its release!

Audi need to be careful that they do not hack off loyal customers by constant Vdt that isn't! Tweaks here and there are generally pointless IMHO.

What if you don't like the facelift and your stuck with it?
Are you mad, the whole of ASN know exactly what the facelift will look like and when it will arrive ;)

Don't think a car maker won't go ahead and change a car to not jack off customers, plenty of ****** off owners in pre faclift A45's once merc decided they were going to completely redesign the front a rear bumpers, offer a new front diff, suspension settings controller, 20 bhp more, different gear ratios and new gearbox software!!! That's not a facelift that's a new car!
I'd be willing to wait for the facelift plus the current RS3 looks a bit boring I'd like to see what they've added.
I wouldn't go off what dealers tell you they want a sale now not in 5 months time or whatever, I was told by an M specialist salesman that he can categorically confirm they will not be making an M2, all because he wanted me to commit to an M235i.

^^ Amen @tankclark. Product cycles with so many things are becoming compressed. It makes perfect sense to see it happening in the automotive sector also. Going forward, we're all going to have to get used to our purchases being hammered by depreciation more & more as companies strive to stay competitive. The price of progress.

With facelift announced yesterday for rest of range, my local UK dealer very reticent on any details for RS3.

Regards pricing. Previous to facelift announcement, best I could get was 3%.

Debating options. For example not sure phone box worth the money. But very keen on dynamic pack.

Very glad to have found this forum. I'm not looking at getting an RS3 until March 2017, so news of a facelift being available around that time suits me perfectly - though I will assume the waiting list will probably extend the build times beyond that date. I trust that you guys will post info as soon as it comes out.

@Bristle Hound could you merge all the threads you locked together into one facelift thread as we are now missing good information that was in the other threads.

I am looking to order an RS3 around August time which i though would have been ready for delivery early part of 2017, my Audi dealer has now told me that they have completely stopped production but he is convinced there will not be a facelift version. He did tell me that i could not order a car now so he was not just trying to get me to commit to the current shape. He did say the orders should be back open again in a month or so and he will keep me updated. He was the RS specialist at this particular branch. It does not however make sense that they would facelift the S3 and not the RS3, why would they want the flagship model looking dated?
Does anyone know how the A45 AMG compares as i have only test driven the RS3 (last weekend) i will try the A45 tomorrow!!!

It's not ugly so don't get it twisted! I would but mind one, especially that Nardo Grey with the black pack. Sexy! But if they release a facelift within weeks this one will look dated and lose 5k in value. That's my point!

Lol Loose 5k in value within weeks cause the s3 and a3 are facelifted utter rubbish.

It drives really well. To me it feels more nimble and 'chuck-able' than the RS3 but has less low-end pull and nowhere near the 'theatre' of the 5cyl.

Front seats are excellent but, by comparison to the S3/RS3, the Merc interior is cheap and shouty and proportions for rear pax are woeful. Audi interior feels classier & dare I say more grown-up in both form and function.

2nd choice for me for a bunch of niggly/subjective reasons. Have fun checking it out!

Buddy I have stated this on another thread and will restate for your benefit.I bought a facelift M3 in Sept(the facelift was in July)and sold it 4 mts later.Nobody I phoned to trade it in gave a monkeys whether it was a facelift or not.The changes are so minor normally that it really doesn't make a difference but if you want to whip yourself into a frenzy about it then be my guest.

Thanks for the advice. I test drove the A45 2 hours ago and I can confirm it was not in the same league. I can understand if it was 10k cheaper but it just didn't have the quality to warrant the price. Quick yes but you need to rev the granny of it. Not as much grunt down low. On PCP for the new facelift they wanted £750 a month! No chance.

I still don't get why (some of) you guys get so prima donna about a cars face lifted (maybe) appearance; it's what the car's all weather road going abilities 'do' that are important and that's what do it for me; and that 5-pot engine and 7-speed gearbox; if it had a Wartburg badge on it I'd be content (ok, so I've taken my badges off) so long as it continues to do what a bog standard Audi RS3 does on the road in ALL weathers: I've never driven any car that's so on your side in seriously 'BAD' UK weather as an Audi RS3

I once sat in an A45 AMG Mercedes and, without adding any heat to the seat, got out; I just didn't want to drive that 'interior' anywhere; and as it's the interior I spend most of my time looking at when in the car then it was thank you Mercedes A45 AMG but no thanks

Suffice to say I'm still in an 8P RS3 - with extended leather. Not wanting to upset any 8V owners but I'm still in an 8P RS3 and I love the damn thing every journey we make and still wouldn't swap it for anything else - YET!

750?! How much was your deposit? You can obtain 10 - 11% discount easily. 3k down and a 3/4 year pcp at 10k miles a year your 520. I've looked ;)
