Test Drive Dealer Experience

I don't know what the going rate would be for yours or what WBAC would be offering.

Did you actually drive the 8Y or just sit in it?
About 3k more than the stealer!

Yeah got to drive it. I just don't see it's worth £61k imho. Have you driven it?

It wouldn't be difficult for it to drive better than 8v fl ....
Don't get shocked anymore lol if it drives better than my TTS did I will be shocked
My TTS was a superb car, an ex launch car and pretty loaded, I traded it for a cheap TTRS manual and a big part of me regretted it

Yeah I have driven one a couple times. The first time is wasn’t sure but the second time I could appreciate a bit better where the money has gone for it.

I think the first time there were a few things that made me wonder about the value but the second time I noticed a good amount of positives and really enjoyed the drive a lot.

For me it’s worth it, but I can understand why it’s not for a lot of folk.

Very nice TTS.
I got a 3.2 litre TT in 08 and when the TTS came out I really wanted one.
The TTS was my next car and got that in 2011, it was a terrific car.

I just cancelled mine today……

No it’s not worth that money, interior and lack of a proper lead time / build date caused me to look at other options.

Yes, I agree. What is up with the vents on the dash? To me, they look like they've been stuck on as an afterthought!

In the end I just didn’t ‘want’ it enough.

2 months no info from Audi in that time.

Most of the price increase is inline with inflation and it’s competition. I’m pretty sure a fully loaded A45S tops out about the same price nah?

I don't know what all the fuss is about re lead time .... my 8v was 7 months, the 8y was only 5 months :tearsofjoy:

I do understand your frustrations though.

I disagree there, this topic comes up with rare NOS Motorcycle parts, I think it's worth whatever people are prepared to pay at the time :)

That’s what Audi UK executive office told me when I asked them to comment on dealerships selling for way over list price.

“They are individual businesses and can set a price for the cars that they wish, if a customer believes this is good value they can purchase it, if they do not see value in it they do not have to make a purchase.”

Yes, exactly, some one bought 4 NOS (1975) Kawasaki Spark plug caps off me for £450.............................He obviously thought they were worth that much, as did the other handfull of buyers on the EBay auction, most others thought he must have had a bang on the head

Exactly :icon thumright:
it is priced very close to the A45s so it is pitched correctly.
It is probably a touch higher at the moment, but it is more desirable and newer so fair enough.
Both are great cars IMO but the RS3 has by far the best engine with 1 extra cylinder and the Audi sports exhaust is on another level to the Merc which has zero sound below 3,500 rpm and might as well be a Fiesta 1.0 litre popular !
Audi have nailed the exterior to with 8y RS3, it just looks incredible vs the Merc which looks nice .. the audi looks angry and menacing lol
The seats are way better on the RS3 too as is the suspension and ride quality.
All subjective of course, but the Audi most certainly feels worth its price tag - in relation to its direct competition IMO.

Lol no fuss. Just not getting one now.

This is the same for me. I'm one of the few other people who decided to cancel their order. After sitting in and driving the RS3, for nearly the same amount of money I've got myself a 2 year old BMW M5 instead (dont judge me!) The interior just feels so much more special and it's more practical for me. I understand its not brand new like an RS3, but it's bigger for a family, has great power, 4WD and more tech and kit than the RS3s come with. Just spend a little more time in the petrol station than I'd like

Very true and It was a letdown for me when I had my demo, But it’s the dynamics and performance that compensated for me and truly can’t see anything out there that I would rather have For anything close to the money.

Yeah I get that but I quite like the understated look and going to be getting a few carbon fibre M performance goodies! It's also crazy loud for a sensible family saloon, the burbles and pops are so addictive!
