Audi configurator has been updated with the new MY23.5 spec. What happens if you have factory build on order which is expected July/August time? Will you get the old spec or the new 23 spec?

Build weeks usually change end of September so if it’s due to be built before you’ll get the 23 model.
I see there is some interesting changes especially to the edition one that is now called black edition again, matrix headlights have gone as standard and only available with the tech pack is the most noticeable

S3 Black Edition now as well - A few more bits added on as standard but Matrix only available as part of Tech Pro which also includes a Panoramic Roof (never liked them) and 360 Camera back ( I say back wasn't round long last time) - Still not fitting Virtual Cockpit Plus as standard and not part of tech pro by the looks of things

Just realised I posted in the a3 instead of A4 section although the whole Audi uk has been overhauled so doesn't make much difference.
Tempted to cancel and re-order although don't want to be at the back of the queue

I think it's all included under the Black Edition Standard - click the little i top right of the model - That will give you everything that's on the vehicle

Oh yeah! Also ext ambient lighting looks like it’s finally back as that’s listed as standard? Or do you think that will come missing lol? Annoying that you can’t just add matrix leds on their own. Price of the s3 has now gone up but you get black bits and wireless charging by etc so I suppose it’s worth the extra now. Also I can’t work out if this is this face lift car?

It does look like you get Comfort and Sound pack and black bits for your extra £2k or so since the April 4th price rise, and slightly better standard wheels (the 19" Y x 5 spoke), although comparing to the optional 19s, the extra £250 is the same as it was before, which would imply the new standard 19s have the same monetary worth as the old standard 18s, but the new ones look a fair bit better.
Agreed. They'll probably let us order the facelift model after 1 October, meaning a 6-month wait would probably lead to the first cars being delivered sometime in late March or early April 2024.
I can't see what you get extra in the Vorsprung apart from the driver assist package

Is that it? HBA is a £100 option and the adaptive dampers used to be in the region of about £800. Add in some airbags and it seems incredibly poor value for your additional £6k.
You also get cockpit plus in the vorsprung that isn’t a option on the black edition
yep you need to read the specs line by line - looks like the Vorsprung also gets carbon inlays, head up display, rear cross traffic alert.
Matrix LED headlights with LED rear lights, Panoramic glass sunroof, 360 camera, Electric front seats, Advanced key for £2.4k looks good value though
HBA wouldn't be there though because Vorsprung has Matrix

BW14 was last week wasn't it - Are you locked in yet do you know?
RS3's they had too many orders I believe so can no longer order it - Not sure it will come back to be honest or maybe Facelift next year

I've a Cupra Leon VZ3 300HP on Order September 2022 and that was provisionally BW12 which came and went and when I chased I was told no build week now, which has been updated to BW18 week starting 1st May but still not locked
I was hoping things would start getting better but apparently not
High beam assist is in the tech pack pro so adaptive chassis control and a few air bags for an extra of around £3600
I'd be going with the black edition with the tech pack over the Vorspsung
I agree just a shame that Pro or Vorsprung is the only way to get Matrix - When I got my S3 standard in 2020 relatively cheap to add on Matrix about £440
I know gone are the days where you can have a car how you want it unfortunately .
Have a look at my susbsequent post if you’ve not already - Vorsprung comes with a few more bits after checking the detail

Sorry I missed your post I just read from my notification although you do get a few more bits I'd personally still go with the Black edition
as it represents better value imo

Matrix has variable usefulness, depending on where you drive. Great in winding country lanes, unnoticeable on well lit A roads and motorway. We used to have an ID3 with and another without Marrix headlights, and driving around our well lit road, I'd barely notice the difference between the 2 cars. I will miss HUD though, all new cars should have it.
Take it, you don't see many around and you can always sell it afterwards - It will probably be worth more as you can't get them now and as you said no MY23.5 for the RS3

I might reach out and switch to Tech Pro. I have to weigh up the additional cost and see if it's worth the extra gadgets I suppose.
Also. New reg in September too...
If you ordered in March, you dodged the price rise on April 4th. If you make changes now, you'll be paying post rise prices for the car as a whole, in effect its likely to be a whole new order - that'll cost you a fair bit!
Also, it should mean nothing to the dealership for you to defer registration and collection to get the new plate if the car was going to be ready mid-August.
