    Turbo Hose!

Problem solved! Can you believe this - the rear boot seal was damaged and was letting in exhaust fumes. Must be a low pressure region and was being sucked into car. Funny thing was that it was okay when stationary - bad when on the move. Anyway - all good now.

    Turbo Hose!

Well I replaced the red hose (turbo to inlet) from Forge. Nope - burning, oily exhaust gas Smell still there. Can't really drive the car far becomes of fumes now. Nothing obvious though and I am sure it would be as smell so strong. Will pull of inlet tomorrow and look at PCV piping again in...

    Turbo Hose!

Thanks for replies. Had a look at exhaust and it all looks good. Waiting for hose to arrive from Awesome today. I am not convinced this is the problem, but it would have needed doing anyway. Boost gauge does not suggest any loose of pressure. I will examine PCV piping in more detail. I pulled of...

    Turbo Hose!

Yeah - I am not sure what it is. It smells a bit like oil and exhaust and when boosting, smells a little different. I have to drive with windows open. Really bad when closed with air con/recirculate etc on or off - it doesn't matter. I have checked PCV and can't see anything obvious. Will see...

    Turbo Hose!

Many thanks! It needs replacing anyway. Can't say I noticed any loss of boost. I just hope it stops the fumes!

    Turbo Hose!

Think I have found the problem with fumes coming into cabin! Not sure if they are exhaust, oil, but really made me feel ill. Anyway, I think it is the red silicone hose that connects inlet on turbo to trackslag inlet - 06A-145-832L. It is perished through heat I guess. Anyway - Audi want £155 +...

    Possible Head Swap

...with a turbo that can provide the puff at high rpm!

    Possible Head Swap

There is a load of information on port flow and small v's big port heads. The difference in flow at higher valve lift between small and large port is quite impressive. However, OEM K04 runs out of puff way before then. You may see a small gain at high rpm, but you will notice loss of bottom end...

Different Boost Level Depending on Gear?

Hi All. Picked up a Audi TT (still have my S3). Difference in handling and performance is night and day. S3 has adjustable anti roll bars and coilovers. TT is largely OEM but with 40mm drop springs. Anyway, the TT has been remapped with 3" downpipe, exhaust, de-cat, etc - largely the same as my...

    K03 turbo shaft play

eBay have a great refund policy - and they deal with disputes fairly. The buyer is mostly always protected! I guess it all depends on how much you spent and your motivation to pursue. Cheers, Paul

    NEW AET/Badger5 K04-380 (402bhp dyno'd)

Hi Bill. At this level, do you recommend some uprated exhaust valves? If so, what other valve train mods should be considered? Regards, Paul

1.8t inlet manifolds.. side by side - comparison pix

Great stuff Bill! I have a 034 one and it looks tiny in the picture. The volume in the others is very different. Is your intention to do some definitive benchmarking with dyno plots :-) ?
