I think Audi are going OTT lately and getting far too technical with the design on things like this, I've had many Audi's over the years and my personal opinion is that the older models seemed to be better and also better build quality, but maybe it's all down to making money from parts that...
It's a solenoid valve that controls the fluid flow in the mount, when the car is stationary the valve is open to allow the mount to be softer and less vibration, when the car is moving then the valve closes and stiffens up the mount, that's how I understand it.
Thanks, that part is listed as right hand, is there another part number for the left side or do I just need to buy 2 of the right hand side 337441008 ?
I've been on my computer for 3 hours and can't find anything, tried euro car parts but they didn't want to sell me B5 mounts as they said there not for my car and didn't have a reference number for them, I'll try the others that have been suggested and see how I get on
I don't really know, mine is a 2002 Avant maybe it's had an engine change, I can only assume it's an AWX as that's what's it states on the body plate near the bulkhead
Anyone know where I can buy a pair of new engine mounts from for a 2002 A4 B6 avant, 1.9 AWX engine, I don't want to buy from Audi, I've seen loads of used ones on ebay but can't seem to find anyone selling them, one has the electrical solenoid on it.
No it's not, mine is a completely different tensioner, anyway I've done it now, the best youtube video explaining this and the only one I could find was the Hungarian one.
I got it from GSF car parts, it's a Ruville German kit part number 5549470 it comes with all the bits including new stud and nut, the water pump is an Airtex genuine oe, £130 for the lot.
Just done my timing belt and checked the torsion value, it's fluctuating between 0-0 0.5 and 1.1
As I understand it's within the specified limits, can anyone confirm this please.
Thanks for the info, I've seen that video and mine is totally different tensioner, mine works on the hydraulic tensioner, anyway I've figured it out and the job is done now.
I just bought an OEM timingbelt kit for my 2002 A4 B6 Avant 1.9 tdi pd with the AWX engine, I understand how to lock the timing and replace the belt but mine has a totally different belt tensioner to the ones shown on youtube, mine has a metal bracket attached to it and as I understand it has to...
My engine is running ok and has no misfires so I can rule that one out, I've experienced similar clutch judder on old school cars years ago and 99% of the time it was oil on the clutch plate! but mine has a new clutch! I'm just finding this really weird as this judder has been a known common...
So you have had all that work done and still have the vibration problem, I can't afford to go down that road, reading other forums it seems to be a common problem but no one seems to have come up with a solution to fix it, did you check the subframe mountings.
So far the possible causes are DM...
I'm not sure, the guy I bought it from told me it had a new clutch which I can well believe as the biting point is just off the floor, one thing I did notice was the clutch pedal is very much lower than the brake pedal, I don't know if the flywheel was changed.
I've recently bought this car and slowly working my way through all it's problems, the problem I'm trying to resolve at the moment is clutch judder, sometimes it's pretty bad and other times it's not, I can rule out the clutch as it's recently had a new one, I've been looking at the engine...
I'm about to change my timing belt and waterpump on my 2002 A4 B6 1.9 TDI Avant, I've watched a few youtube videos on doing this but have a question about the camshaft pulley, I noticed that the three bolts with adjustable slots have to be loosened to get the belt off but what happens when...
