I think I read that 2010-, the washer unit is attached to the headlight? So getting bumper misaligned probably would be the main cause, but I'll check anyway. Will have to wait untl the spring if it's a bumper totally off job.
Had a search but couldn't really find much info, so figured I'd ask...
So the next tidy up job I need to do on the S3 is to resolve the sticking headlight washer nozzle. When it operates it nearly always jams and gets caught on the cover. It seems to go out too far and then catch on the cover...
More boring tidying bits: fixed a bad connection on the passenger heated mirror, replaced a damaged mirror LED on the driver side and fitted a new rear wiper blade. Cleaned, conditioned and fitted the set of OEM rubber interior mats and boot liner I had for the previous v6 sportback.
Also had a...
Had the awful custom exhaust that the p.o. had fitted replaced. Didn't go quite as planned though..
We'd had a quick look underneath and spotted that the oem downpipe had been chopped off before the cat and a flange welded on, to which the custom system was attached.
As a quick, cheap fix I'd...
The passenger side wing mirror on my s3 doesn't seem to have heating. It doesn't clear like the driver side.
Is it broken, or could they be specc'd with just one heated side?
I'm guessing it's broken, but figured I'd check..
No, it was dark by the time I'd finished on the paintwork last week (8.5 hours of hard graft) and it was dirty again the next day :tearsofjoy:
Will take a picture or 2 next time I wash it, but with this weather anc the filthy roads ought here, it will probably be a while!
Bought a 2012 s3 a couple of weeks back which needs a few bits doing to it. Got a bit done this week:
Replaced broken armrest lid
Replaced missing parcel shell cable peg
Fitted micro sized mic to pioneer h.u. (bt phone now works) :roll eyes:
Replaced centre caps
Fitted the gen1 front and rear...
Hi. I'd like to co this upgrade. I was really surprised to find an s3 doesn't have them as standard.
Is it just a case of removing the old one, unplugging it, plugging the new one in and fitting it back in, or is there more to it?
Thanks in advance.
Matt
ok, understand. Do we think the swithc itself would fit though?
in the golf, they fit like this, but would it fit in a blank of the a3?
In the A3 it would have to go in one of the square blanks in this panel:
Hmm. Not really. That has the plugs for an oem head unit. Plus it doesn't look like it would fit straight into one of the control panel blanks.
Edit: Although, looking at it properly, it does have a usb connection and perhaps it could fit in the panel. Hmm.
Hi - did a quick search using forum search but couldn't find anything.
So can anyone confirm if any companies make a USB port that fits one of the switch blanks below the stereo in a face lift 8p?
Have had a google, but couldn't see one, so figured I'd ask on here - if they exist, someone on...
Hi all. A bit of a thick question but when companies quote -20mm, -30mm etc for s3 springs, are they based on the standard A3 car suspension height or the s3 height.? I fitted -30 springs to my old s-line 3.2 quattro and it dropped it a bit more (they were for all quattro cars) so are the...
