I had similar in mine, but it turned out to be the rear door cards. A bit of thick felt tape behind, but under the card (not visible) sorted it. I usually put it under roughly and half on show at first, then drive for a few days to see if it works before fixing permanently. I only use 15 to 20mm...

I've never removed one however for a job like this I would mask off around the sill protector with 3m masking tape or similar and then saw cut using fishing line to cut through the tape. This works well when removing stuck on numberplates or badges. Sent from my SM-G991B using Tapatalk

Reminds me of my first car, an M reg Astra!! I've been in conservatories that heat up quicker. That said, in 32 degree heat absolutely wanging it in Europe it never went hot, I know which I'd prefer.

I've topped up coolant (and oil) from min to max now twice in 6500 miles. Not overly concerned to be honest. As for brake squeal, not had an issue but my brakes do have a cooking evey time I go out.
