Rear pad replacement help please ??

Spartacus...... Can you give me a quick rundown on how to strip the rears please ?? I can't find anywhere online that documents it with an electronic handbrake ?? Do you just go through the same procedure as changing the discs and pads by VCDS'ing the handbrake into reline mode, take the...

Rear pad replacement help please ??

The slide pins are fine. I filed off all signs of corrosion and copper slipped everything :sm4: I didn't know about the torque vectoring, will have to look into that ??

Rear pad replacement help please ??

Yeah....the reason I changed the rear discs and pads was because they were heating up too much under braking compared to the fronts. And as we know, it's the fronts that should be hotter than the rears !! The rears were on their last legs though. Before changing them I went for a drive without...

Rear pad replacement help please ??

Thanks for the reply Spartacus, but as I hadn't any replies before I did the brakes, I pumped them before I reset the handbrake :disappointed: . My thinking was......why electronically wind the handbrake out further than you need to, when you can pump the brakes to move the piston to close the...

Hi All :sm4:, I'm replacing the rear discs and pads on my 2015 Allroad B8.5 tomorrow and just need a bit of advice on a certain part of the procedure, as there seems to be some conflicting advice online ?? I've checked a good few Youtube vid's and have VCDS to rewind the parking brake, etc...

    Pinch bolt removal advice ??

Update: Well......£650 later, I’ve had two new springs and Bilstein shocks fitted. The garage removed the upper control arms at the bushes and left the pinch bolts in place, as advised on here. The car feels a bit strange when purposely throwing it from side to side, but hey-ho, it’ll have to...

    Pinch bolt removal advice ??

When I worked in the fire service I had access to a good few hydraulic and pneumatic tools tools that would have made short work of that bolt !! ;-) I thinking I must be at that age (56) where I just can't be ***** doing jobs like this any more, so I'll leave it to the garage to worry about.

    Pinch bolt removal advice ??

Well, I tried to remove the pinch bolt today and guess what.....it was seized solid . I looked at the job of replacement as a whole and decided I just can't be ***** with the hassle of doing it. I've got it booked into a relatively local reputable garage who said they've done loads, and...

    Pinch bolt removal advice ??

I've got a decent spring compressor, and have done a good few in the past, just wasn't sure if you needed to do this with the Audi ?? One thing I haven't got is a ball joint separator, just in case you need one of these for the lower arms ??

    Pinch bolt removal advice ??

If Does anyone know what other things I have to do to get the job done this way ?? What needs to be unbolted, etc ?? Do I need to compress the spring while it's in place before removal, etc ?? Gonna have a proper look at it tomorrow.

    Pinch bolt removal advice ??

I've been doing a bit of reading on Audi Facegroup groups, and a few people have mentioned this may be possible, but they don't go into too much detail on how to do it. I don't want to use heat on it if I can help it, and it would be good to save the upper control arms. You never know, I...

    Pinch bolt removal advice ??

Hi, It's one thing after another with my B8.5 Allroad :disrelieved: I had a knocking noise from the front when reversing onto the driveway, so checked the bushes and suspension to find both springs are snapped at the bottom :openmouth:. No problem I thought, so looked online how to replace...

Audi A4 B8.5 parking assist / reversing sensors stopped working

Possibly, but with the greatest of respect, the cloth binding tape was damp, and the separate cloth binding tape where the wires are spliced was soaking wet. When I unfolded the splice tape, as you can hopefully see from the pic, everything just crumbled to bits. In my opinion, it's caused by...

Audi A4 B8.5 parking assist / reversing sensors stopped working

Just a quick how to, as I couldn't find much info online when my parking assist screen stopped working: As I couldn't find much info online as to why my parking assist screen stopped working I ran a VCDS scan which came back: 02070 - rear parking aid sensors. 011 - open circuit 01545 - sensor...

    A4 B8.5 Allroad rear bumper removal ??

It lives, it lives !! I soldered the wires together (not my best work, but fingers crossed, it’ll do), checked them all for continuity and taped them up. Put the bumper back on the car (easy this time) and checked to see if the park assist screen came on. It didn’t. Ran a VCDS scan and cleared...

    A4 B8.5 Allroad rear bumper removal ??

I found my wiring fault, quite a common occurrence. I stumbled across an Audi technical service bulletin online for the same issue in a different car which led me to the issues I’ve been having. Will do a write up on my other thread for the issue. Wire splice to the sensors corroded and snapped
