Saturday - Quick wash, then took it to the place I bought it from and sold it back to them.:cry::cry::cry:
Anyone want a decent S4 Avant with good spec try Magari Automotive in Fareham
Had a big service last year so this is just a minor I guess. Service and MOT was just over £200 from my local indy garage. Oil wise I didn't tell them what to use so it'll just be to spec I'm guessing.
I think they are a bit hit and miss. I had my S4 serviced and the garage but the amount of oil required in but the electric gauge only showed half full. I took it back and they put another half litre in but it did not register any change. Only after driving for a couple of days did it all...
Is the Q5 / Porsche 4 pot calliper a bolt-on upgrade?
I'm thinking about this if it is simple to do and I keep the car. (or at least I was until I got made redundant last week!)
Two things then:
Anyone know where the central electronics control module is located in the car?
and
Can anyone post the part number of there one? Mine is version C
I have cleared the codes but I don't know if my car supports different modes for steering. Changing ADS make no difference to feel. My previous car (2014 Octavia vRS) also had different modes and I could feel the difference with that.
I enabled the cornering fogs with Carista but they only work with the indicators and not when I turn the steering.
I have scanned the car and have this:
Central electronics
Part #: 8K0907063C
Coding: 260050914134AF311601000000001D0D4F9D470800010141000000 (hex)
Component: BCM1 1.0

Car has done 55k miles. I haven't noticed any oil or damp patches, except for some steam out the exhaust which I have put down to atmospheric conditions. No mayo in engine or coolant tank either. It didn't lose either fluid before the service but has lost a little since.
I'll keep an eye on...
So on the weekend I checked the oil and noticed it was a little low, I also needed to top up the coolant (it was only serviced a few thousand miles ago) and having read about what people can achieve MPG wise mine is a little low as well. (Average is 20mpg but short journeys, 27mpg is top I see...
I've seen on eBay you can get upper and lower front strut braces for about £100. Has anyone got any of these fitted?
I know I can buy a bit of tube and drill some holes, but knowing my DIY skills they are unlikely to actually fit!!
When my car was last serviced and MOTed they told me the centre silencer was starting to rattle. I need to replace it and ideally I'd like to go for something stainless (like a Milltek). Does anyone know if you can buy the bits separately? Everywhere I have looked seem to only sell them as...
Are they all the same?
Front to back differ I guess because of the child lock.
Reason for asking is I bought one on eBay from a 2012 model and mine is an 2009 but the child lock switch is in a different place. Just want to know if it'll work before I strip it all down!!
Thanks in advance.
Also check VCDS or Carista for "free" upgrades i.e. Oil Temp / Lap Timer / Cornering Fogs / etc. Depends on which year yours is, I don't think everything works on early cars (mine is a March 2009 and I can't get oil temp or cornering fogs off the steering - it only works off indicator)
