Pray its not your steering wheel sensor........I had to pay £300 (£175 for the part & £125 labour) to get mine sorted - as the steering wheel angle sensor is all part of the steering wheel slip ring assembly....I do have the B6 style 6 button MFSW though, so if you don't have an MFSW it should...
I have the OEM AUDI A4 Avant roof bars...and I use Mont Blanc manufactured Audi Cycle carriers....they work great with our Claude Butler hybrids.....
The ONE problem I have with the Audi OEM roof bars is that they cannot be locked...you are reliant on a Torx screw at either end of teh roof bar...
Well folks...hooked up my VAG-Com this evening...and got the following error
19559 - Motor for Intake Manifold Flap V157 Malfunction P3010-35-10 Intermittent. Tried resetting, but as soon as I switched off ignition and back on, the fault came back instantly. Been quoted £175 to fix by a local...
Hmmm...must be the time of year...my Engine Managment Warning light came on this morning also.....will scan it tonite.....somehow my Audi must "know" that I am due some back pay.....
Well...the ASC and ABS lights are not coming on...after Volkservice at Blackpool diagnosed the fault......an intermittant Slip Ring & Steering wheel angle sensor.....they tried all the usual stuff 1st...like checking or intermittant wiring, etc......BUT the slip ring and sensor (cannot buy...
Hi all...
Its a long time since I posted on here as my A4 2.5 TDi Quattro Sport Avant has been mega reliable...I bought it 4 .5 years ago with 24K on the clock.........its now showing 78K and I have to say I am mega impressed with it. (only gripe is the tyre wear - £600 a year on tyres , and a...
Hi folks.....been away a while....
Anyway we have had some good weather recently, so have started going over my 2.5 TDi Q Sport Avant to touch up the winter damage (stone chips, etc).
On giving the car a good wash and dry off I noticed rust bubbling up on one of the roof channels...
Was watching Wheeler Dealers last night and they were changing the clutch on a Subaru Impreza WRX (Y Reg).....Brewer was saying thatthe clutches in these cars only last for about 75K miles....
Got me thinking....realising Audi's are in a different league Subaru's what sort of mileage are you...
Cheers....I had an advisory on the MOT for one of the front suspension arms...may well get those ball joints checke when it goes in to be fixed......does it mean the ball joints are knackered tho if they creak ?
When approaching almost full lock I can hear creaking from somewhere....sounds daft I know
In normal town driving no noise..but only when I am doing slow maneuvers...any ideas wher ethis noise is coming from folks ?
My A4 Avant 2.5 TDi Quattro Sport is now well spec'd - I fitted the rear window blinds, RNS-e, Glovebox CD Changer, OEM Bluetooth, and RS4 ARB. York Audi retrofitted the Cruise Control before I purchased the car, and Hazzydayz fitted the A4 B6 MFSW.....eveything else was on my car :-)
The ONE...

2 years ? Hmmmmm....
Anyways another useful feature is that if you switch off ignition, remove key, get out of car and one of the windows is open, if you hold down the lock button on the keyfob then the open window will close - have to admit it took me a year of car ownership to realise that...
Yep....looks good to me....especially if its getting the cambelt done...
Check the tyres though....I get around 15K miles out of my 2.5TDi Q Sport and st £150 a corner getting a set of 4 decent tyres is not cheap (if its got 18" rims it should be on 235 40 ZR 18's)
I have the AA "breakdown" insurance costs about £69 quid (if you are a member) and covers £500 towards the costs of any one repair from or as result of a breakdown at the side of the road. It does me....you can claim up to 5 times a year ....may not cover everything but it certainly lessons the...
I had same problem when my A4 Avant Quattro was broadsided by a 40 tonne juggernaught on the M25. Complete passenger side was trashed. Front lower bumper was fine, but was damaged by the car transfer company which transferred my car back up north. All sorted by the transfer companies insurance !
I definatly notice more noise from the quattro system during very low speed manoevres when the tyres wear down to the wear blocks......new tyres fix's it !
One of my mates spent hours trying to fit the rear brake pads using pliers & screwdriver....I lent him my caliper reset tool and it took minutes to fit them......so top tip - use the right tool and its a pi$$ easy job......
