The adaptation never seemed enough on my car, so i placed a ball bearing in the tube to the EGR valve, removing EGR function altogether.
I do have an earlier 110bhp VE engine, so there are no problems with removing the EGR.
What did you set your IQ to?
If you have an older car with a 'fixed' code type transponder (immo 1 or 2) you can simply get one of your existing transponder capsule/chips cloned and add it to the new key.
The car will then see all the 'new' keys as the same key.
Or use vagcom and your 4/7 digit SKC.
If you have a...
The badging scheme is a bit haphazard but:
B5 chassis:
90bhp All silver
100bhp All silver
110bhp Red 'I'
115bhp Red 'I'
B6 chassis:
100bhp All silver
115bhp Red 'I'
130bhp Red 'DI' (can also be just Red 'I')
155/163/180 ? Red 'TDI'
I am not sure if the standard 35W setup HID bulbs are identical to the 55W setup type.
I cant find much info on it, but i suspect they are the same.
The 55W HID's only draw big current during ignition, they still use less power than a standard halogen headlight bulb, although i suspect...
You can install aftermarket 55W ballasts instead of the OEM 35W type, they are much brighter than normal HID's.
There are twin projector headlights out there (not bi-xenon), German ebay or European tuning firms may be a good place to find a set.
Sounds like you will have to replace one or more of the brake pad sensors (inspect them).
If there is no obvious contact, there may be a faulty sensor.
Disconnect each in turn until the light goes out.
Your car has a 'rolling code' type immob capsule in the key part of the remote.
You can not clone this type of immob capsule/chip.
It needs to be taken to the audi dealer, sometimes even if you have vagcom & your SKC.
If you are replacing a worn key you can swap over the capsule to your...
They are all 'electropneumatic valves', simply an electrically controled variable pressure/vacuum valve.
They are generally used in the boost control system, and EGR control system, basically anywhere an ECU controlled valve is needed.
They are all pretty much the same basic design, some...
The earlier write once 'static code' immobiliser capsules could be easily cloned by a competent auto locksmith or added with VAG-COM if you had the SKC.
Most Audis from around 99 onwards use a read/write 'rolling code' immob, which makes it much more difficult to add a key without the dealer...
Do you have another main key that you can try, to determine if the fault is with the key or the car?
The immobiliser capsules are very very difficult to damage when they are within a key/remote.
Not sure what keys you get with a B6 chassis, but a valet key etc could give the same results...
