when does it do this?On auto or manual or both?Could be related to the flap controlling the air from the heater which is only fully open or closed and not reacting to the temp setting. The motors can stick but this one maybe has lost its sensitivity to the setting. Not easy to get at though
Perhaps it might be relevant to say that we spent a long time wondering where the battery charge was draining on a TT Roadster until noticing a leak in the rear window just over the convenience module .Had to get a replacement
Never heard of a sealed box on an Audi although the Tiptronic is not supposed to need servicing.Still got mine done though its not a lot to pay and I couldn't see how the ATF would last forever.I think most would look for regular changes on a multitronic as a must
The false warning is a nuisance .Just bridged the sockets on the pads with a piece of a paperclip and taped over. You get a lot more wear out of the pads and its simple to look at them through the wheel and check the wear .I think the light is now a MOT failure now which is daft if the pads have...
Audi should have records for when they did it but unless you have evidence of up to date gearbox service I would be careful and give it a good test.Even if it checks out It should have an ATF change. You cant be too careful with these . repairs are expensive
The stat seems to be the priority.Sounds like its failed and I would leave the matrix to last and only change that if the new stat doesn't fix it.I think cleaning it is not an option cos its the fine pipes that can block and I assume it wont be easy to remove being buried in the bulkhead
Welcome. The pad light is a wire best overcome by disconnecting plug on hub and shorting circuit.I used a paper clip pushed in the holes and then taping over. There maybe one on both sides. My TT hood has staining but I have given up cleaning them cos it doesn't seem to work.
Sorry no ideas about...
I got a Roadster 2 years ago so was great in the sun last year and this so far. They don't seem to date and are well made. The 1.8 can suffer pick up pipe problems so best to get one not on longlife and maybe even do a clean up with the sump off if its going to stay. They are holding their value...
No doubt Audi would do a proper job but £925 is prohibitive so it would be interesting if you find a subsidised quote.Cant see why they would want to give a lot away though
This is becoming a bit of a dilemma. My 04 was done over 5 years ago by a clever man in London and has run well ever since. He charged about £500 and included new pump and stat and all belts. We drove up from Southampton cos he had such a good reputation and it was hard to find a capable man at a...
