Interior lights odd fault

Hi all.
When my passenger door is opened the interior lights come on as normal but then start to flash off and on as long as the door is open. Regular flash similar speed as the indicators. weird.
Was thinking maybe dodgy contact in the switch? anyone had this before?

Had a similar problem, but it wasn't flashing as regularly as the indicators. I took the interior light apart and the plastic cover that clips on top to keep it all together had come unclipped so the contacts were loose.
