I had a service recently and was told my flywheel needs replacing.
I do feel a gentle vibration under foot in between gears so assume it is this?

Ive had the car for 6000k miles and has done from the start with no getting worse.
Should I change it sooner rather than later?

Also whilst changing the flywheel should I be changing any other parts? EG Clutch?

Cheers

Needs to be replaced ASAP really as theres no guage to say how long flywheel will last and if you want to see what happens when a flywheel goes flyby have a google. Theres been some deaths no joke.

Clutch/hydraulic slave need to be replaced at same time.

I called a local parts department and they was asking which clutch/flywheel set I had?
How do I know / check?
I think he said 'does it use the Luk or Sachs'?? As I therefore couldnt use the other??

need to know what you car is?

Normally it's a LUK flywheel as they don't do Sachs flywheel or didn't when I got mine, and to upgrade the organic plates its Sachs. I'm purely talking S3. So don't know about the others.

You can fit either make kit. LUK or Sachs. You just have to fit it in a set(which you would anyway)

LUK flywheel doesnt fit Sachs clutch or vice versa.

Fit same make flywheel/clutch simples

Strange as ive had clutch/flywheel changed but still feel/hear the vibration through my foot on gear change/if i touch/ride on the clutch..
perhaps it wasnt the flywheel afterall..
