Audi a4 what oil to use

Hi Guys

just bought myself a 54 plate a4 s-line 190

My question is the car has full history but i was wanting to give it a service

what grade oil should i use

should i get a oil flush read on the forum about sludge would this clean it

and read on the forum about a bigger capacity oil filter are most of use doing this now

Ive just this second ordered some from Europarts
Got a deal on and cost me £26 for Castrol Edge 5/30
Mine is a diesel, so not sure which one you need TBH

as regards oil castrol edge 5w30 meets your requirements or quantum longlife 3 both meet the 507 spec as regards flushing the engine i would be careful as you dont want to loosen crud that may cause problems if it as had regular oil changes there should not be much crud in it . its up to you personally i would not do it

the larger capacity oil filters i have read about on a few posts would that be a good idea to do at the same time as the oil change

I wouldn't do a flush if you're worried about sludge. I would get the sump off though for a good inspection. Unless you've got a full service history of the correct spec oil being used?

Quantum longlife! Quantum is made by Castrol, not the same as edge but cheaper and meets all the VW specs, also used if your car's serviced at the dealership.
