how long does it take for your temp gauge to register normal operating temperature?

Depends can be anything from 8 - 15/20 mins. Takes mine much longer when im in traffic.

Depends on driving conditions, but mine normally takes around 15mins on average driving.

I agree, generally about 15 minutes for my 05 2.0tdi.
