Potential Problem?

For quite sometime now, I've noticed my temp dial on my dashboard only ever reaches about 70.. I've not experienced any issues yet and it's been like this for quite sometime now...

I'm doing the timing belt soon so will have the car it bits, so if there is a problem I can tie it in with all that..

check actual temp with vcds to make sure the engine is running the right temp, could be the temp switch, needles, or thermostat stuck open.
