Trim thing question

Hello!

Thinking of buying this car:

I was wondering what the deal with is with the little insert next to the number plate, from the front it looks colour matched but from the side like the pic it looks like someone has sprayed it with a rattle can: what is this square thing called and where could I get one in the same colour as the car...or am I stuck with it looking misplaced like that?

Towing blank that is removed to screw in the towing eye.

Its either been replaced for new & badly painted or bought 2nd hand & not bothered to paint to match the car, either way you can easily fix that at any bodyshop, but check the rest of the car for signs of paintwork incase its had a respray for some reason.

There is a similar darker colour on the rear valance:

Maybe I should avoid it? It is a shame I do like the silver stitching and the seats etc!
