well had the car lowered around 3 weeks now
40mm on front and 35 on rear
so been waiting to see if it will settle much
but it doesn't seem to be settling as much as I expected especially after reading and looking at quite a few of your cars lads that seem to be a lot lower
anyone shed a little light on what this could be
I have been in touch with the suppliers and they have never heard of this issue
they are called ap sorts springs off ebay

this is front
Audi lowering 1
this is the back
Audi lowering 2
now the back seem to have settled roughly where I expected on 35mm
but as for the front as far as im concered they look more or less standard grrrrrr

hi drew, i seem to be having the same problem too, not sure whether it is just the way the car is built or not. i think im just going to buy coilovers instead though as they're much easier to get right

I see joe its really strange how the rears are sttled and look about right but the fronts just don't seem to have bugged
I have comtemplated going down the coilover route but its money at the mo especially with xmas round the corner grrrr
issues issues issues at the mo
only small ones but ones that can see and really bugging me
like my light issue I just cant seem to shed any light on it lol (pardon the pun)
no puddle lights, no footwell lights, no boot lights, no glove box lights and the red light on the doors don't work and also the little led lights on the door pins don't work
so annoying :wtf:

yeah I have checked all the fuse issues
my problem aswell is being pretty new to the audi scene and been doing a good look around there isn't anyone round here like badger that I can go to for things like that which is even more gutting
really could do with finding out if there is anyone hidden in the area similar to badger that I can take the car too
but things like the lights and that really bug me although I love to modify I also love the original little bits being perfect and always want everything in original working order as it should
but I just cant find anything or anyone that has figured out the problem im having with the lights

yeah I have looked at those coilovers, maybe something I will look into in the new year but p***'s me off when I buy something and it doesn't have the desired affect grrrrr

Did the springs come with spring pads for the rears or did the fitter remove the OEM spring pads?

spring pads???
the only things that came was the springs, we just used the pads that were on the originals onto the new ones??? is this rights??
I have noticed aswell since lowering it that the camber of the wheels has changed basically looks like the top of the wheels is pointing in slightly but have read that I need to change the tie bars
and also when driving when you go over a bump or similar feels like the **** and wobbles abit asif there is a wheel loose but obviously there isnt

yes i've heard badger is very very good. would be good if you can find someone like him by you! i'm exactly the same with wanting everything perfect and running the way it should too!

ha yeah well I found someone in York when I first got the car
as I was having issues with the turbo to downpipe blowing took it to him and he said that all the bolts were goosed someone had been messed around etc etc etc anyway he quoted me around 2000 grand to sort out that issue and a few other bits like clipper seized and bushes etc
anyway I **** ma sen and thought id bought a duffa
so I took it to a friend who owns a local garage
140 quid later and all the bits were done sorted and he even said then he would wack a 12 moth ticket on its that good underneath
hense I wont be using that so called audi specialist and that's the only one I know of cant seem to find anyone local
all the lads on here seem to be down south area and all the lads like badger and tuffty etc all seem to be based down there its rather gutting as im a keen audi man and all I wana do is learn as much as poss to make the car as best as poss

and my lass goes ****** crazy at me coz I want everything working and in perfect order lol

ive bee at it 2 weeks now trying to find these issues im having with my lights and alarm LEDS
oh and joe ive posted about your maf issue

Wow!! it is ridiculous the amount of money they try to steal off you! i'm pretty luck as my friends dad owns a audi specialist garage so i know i'm not getting ripped off. yes they do seem to be down south unfortunately. i'm sure you will find someone good enough soon though!

Well isnt that weird, my mrs is exactly the same! cant shut her up haha!

I'm sure you'll find it eventually, on my old s3 the esp was on for 10 years!! yes 10 Years and no garage knew why, but i think looking at what i read about the maf, it was that! just playing up.

i'm ordering a new maf and today ((bosch)) and possibly the n75 later next week when i have a little more money

yeah that's right mate
hopefully but as ive said in your thread
do what bill has said and do a smoke test aswell to see if there is any leaks
ive also been thinking that I might just bring the car down that way to the likes of bill as there simply isn't anything up here

several folks have had similar episodes... and usually the fix was to change to another make of spring and that sorted it

tuffty had something similar on his a few years ago but I dont remember the details

Yeh, bill will be doing a smoke test next week so hopefully no leaks and just a minor fix, think thats a good idea. especially when you consider the great reputation bill has!

I got the Eibach lowering springs which came with a set of pads to insert with the standard ones.
My garage didnt put the new ones on, until I sent the car back and got them install the pads too.

Before additional pads were installed

hmmm might have to look into that dan as your first pic is exactly what mine looks like
but I have expected it to look lower than your second on 400 mm drop I might be wrong though
also the pads is something I didn't get with my springs so I will have to contact the sompany I have boguth them from

I am having exactly the same issue Drewvic, should be a 40mm drop on the front and it is about 10mm, supposed to be 30mm on the rear and that is what I think I have. Now have to adjust the lights as I have been flashed a few times.

yep dan dam god knows, cant really seem to shed and light on it apart from maybe it the shocks??

i put 30mm apex lowering springs on my 1999 s3 and it made a difference and yes you need rear adjustable tie arms or your tyres will wear out in no time as i found went threw a rear set in six months from brand new :(IMG 0092

yeah jay I have noticed that aswell with the twitching
I have read about the adjustable ties just got to look into best and where to get them from
yeah feels like abit of a wobble on the back not and again especially if going over a bump

and yours looks lower than mine that exactly the stance im looking for did you change shocks aswell or just springs

the twitching is more when you go over grids in the road than bumps in my opinion but could depend on what tyres your using as well

so the twitching what that down to? is is the tie bars
what tie bars did you use and where from bud

i haven't changed the tie bars yet so thats why mine could still be twitching but i like the set up really very similar to a fast road set up but that does wear your tyres out more quickly ! and somebody on here sells them there £175 a set delivered i think

cool yeah I think badger sells them I have seen them in a post of reeseys
yeah it doesn't bother me at the mo until the tyre bill comes in lol
