I have a 1.8 T Q done around 95k and looking to change the cambelt kit + water pump.
Pain in the ar$e as the main reason for doing this is that I know the water pump has not been changed. I have sieved through previous paperwork and seen the belt was changed, but no mention of the pump.
Anyway, my question here is I get confused like hell talking about tensioners, dampers, pulley and whatnot as it doesn't make any sense to me.
What do I actually need to be looking for to replace whilst the car is topless ??
So far, I figured,
Water pump (plastic vs metal impeller - i'll likely go for metal)
Timing belt kit (GSF likely as they provide a Gates belt, but can do ECP or TPS)
Tensioner damper (I think?)
Thermostat (+ housing ?)
Are Engine mount bolts really required ? Do i need any other belts or bolts or seals ?
Thanks guys.
