I've looked on the PartsBase.org - Catalogue of Auto Parts website but cannot find the alloy paddle shift levers for the S3. I have an A3 and am idly considering what the cost would be to get them replaced with the nicer alloy ones (I assume they are alloy not just coloured plastic?).

I think I read somewhere that they are silver painted plastic. I haven't got mine yet so can't be sure but I'm sure someone will be along shortly.

Yes, they are metalised plastic - same as the mirror covers.

I think I am right in saying that Audi have a patent on a coating process they call 'cold touch'
It makes plastics feel cool to the touch just like metal.

Thanks for that! I think I'll leave it until OSIR get their act together and produce some nice alloy ones for the 8V. They look and feel great on the TT.

The paddles are far from cheap from audi, sometimes I find it best to sell the wheel & buy one with the ones you want, it can work out cheaper at times.

Wouldn't you then have the wrong badge at the bottom of the wheel? Or can that be easily swapped out?
