Help with a limited retrofit

I currently have "MMI Navigation" installed i.e. MMI 3G.

I want to replace the 5F unit to the HDD version. I thought it would be a straight swap but looks like I need to a couple of other things - according to a local retrofit specialist who is happy to help but a bit on the steep side.

The key challenge is the screen. I currently have a 6.5" screen but need the 7" High Res screen.

Do I need a new cable or will my old one do?

Also, the retrofitter says that I need a new fascia / surround for the new screen. From what I've read I'm assuming that this is the trim for the instrument cluster. He's quoted £140 plus VAT but can see that they're about £30 on fleabay. However...

How do I know which one I'm looking for? I've looked on PartsBase but theres no mention of the screen size against the part number, just the colour.......

Your car is LHD or RHD? If RHD then possible part number of trim is 4F2857115J

Hi both.

The part no I've been given is 4F2857115J 4T4 which matches what Johny is saying (yep, car is RHD). The 4T4 is the colour I believe - silver. Thanks for the lead details.

Am I right in thinking the screen part no is 8R0919604

Yes 8R0919604 is that you need and 4F1857115J 4T4 is silver flex metallic

****** me, so having unsuccessfully trawled the Internet for the new trim I thought I'd give a dealer a call.

£178.33 for the new trim and because it is special order from Germany it's pay up front and non returnable.

Can anyone get hold of cheap parts?!
