AMI Equipment question

I know someone here has managed to retro fit the high end of the MMI (Bigger res screen and etc) over his standard sat nav screen. However I have a question if someone can answer.

If you sat in another A3 and you looked at the control unit (the hardware in the glove box) and you saw a sim card slot between SD1 and SD2, would you assume its the high end MMI kit. The one with the bigger screen and internal HDD?

Or are there other combinations that you can have the high end MMI but without the sim card connectivity?

Nope, only tech pack high has the sim slot. No other combo makes use of it

Amongst many other things as well, screen is one part of it.

The SIM card I between the two SD Card slots is for tech pack high with connect.

I think he's asking if the presence of the SIM slot guarantees it's the Tech Pack with the higher res screen. The answer to this is yes, it does guarantee it.
