Was under the car at the weekend and noticed a small oil leak coming from the joint of the oil return pipe into the block.

I assume the washer has failed and will need replacing, so would need to remove the pipe......question is, would I need to drain the engine oil off, or could I jack the car into a position to tilt the oil away from that point enought to swap the washer over.

It won't drain out from the sump, but there will be residual oil in there obviously so you will get some coming out, but not loads.

Cheers. Got the day off tomorrow to put the car into cambelt service mode, to be able to get in and change the idler roller, sort this leak out and a few other small tasks.
