Help needed on oil leak snapped pipe

Hi guys been trying to source an oil leak on my 1.8t and have found this. It looks like a pipe has snapped off the block and what's left is part of a nylon pipe but I can't find what it is and where it goes it sits just above the oil filter and just behind the dipstick

From your description it sounds like the breather pipe has failed, #2 in the diagram below ......
