Alarm issue.

After 3 years of ownership my alarm has never gone off, until about ten minutes ago.
Investigated and there is nothing suspicious etc.
However, now when I relock the car the indicators don't flash, but when I unlock it I still get the double flash.
Anything I need to do?
Now it's going off again. Looks like a fault has developed, fantastic.
Anyway the car can be locked and the alarm not armed. Otherwise this is going to be a long night.

VCDS scan will tell you what triggered the alarm, so that would be my first port of call.

It's just gone off again, I started it up and it thinks the boot it open when it's not. So I guess there is a problem with the boot mechanism. Where do I start with that?

Normally the sensor on the boot mechanism, take the panel off the boot lid unplug all the leads that go to the motor an clean them up with wd40, should sort it out.
