Air bag light

Hi all, I have just had air bag light appear which is fortunate as I need to MOT the car next few weeks !! Will a code reader be able to narrow down as to where the problem is ?

A6 2.5 TDI Quattro '05

VCDS/Vag Com best scan tool. Should also reset the light if fault corrected.
