Description & age?

So in case anyone hasn't yet seen the videos, not only does it better the excellent Megane and Leon around a short tight track, but also the RS3 and M3!

Well, if it came down to S3 V Type R I'd have to use a rather crass first girlfriend analogy.........

The Civic will bang like a barn door but we all know which one we'd take home to meet our mother ;)

I have a comment to make on the Civic interior.

Now, I am a fan of the Audi A3 interior, I do think it's classy and understated. And personally, I don't like buttons everywhere.

A colleague at work has a new Civic 1.6 diesel, and he was dying to show it off to me. So, feigning interest, I went out to sit in it.

What a revelation. A really nice cabin, well trimmed, gave you that cosseting feeling, good materials. And a traditional handbrake.

I then got out of his, and went back to sit in mine, and for the first time to my eyes, my interior looked dowdy and dated.

Can't explain it, those were the first impressions I got when switching between the two cars.

Quite a revelation to me. For the first time, I now realise why the Audi interior isn't for them, in some people's eyes. My seats also felt quite hard, bare and stark, in comparison to the Honda.

I know what you mean!

Sat in a colleagues new Lexus IF and was highly impressed - felt better made to be honest and the leather was gorgeous. Apart from the dodgy infotainment system controller (a joystick) and the odd 1980's LED displays, it was such a nice place to sit. Easily as well made and ergonomically "right" as the Audi designs. Very surprised! It even looks much better outside than German efforts.

The gap between German manufacturers and the Japanese is closing.....

I bet you don't get pre-creased bolsters or saggy bottom leathers seats in a Lexus ;)

To be honest veeeight, apart from some questionable paint quality (lots of scuffs and chips on a car with 1,000 miles on the clock) I would say it's general quality met or exceeded German efforts in many areas.

The interior plastics were on par with Audi (although Lexus don't scrimp on plastics lower down like Audi). The leather actually felt and smelt like leather - no creases!!!

I'm not impressed.

If you're a fan of this interior, you should be looking at the Volkswagen Golf line which has a similar yet superior interior if not equal to this, not the Audi A3 line that's in a different class of interior look to compare.

Apart from the Red, I see very little wrong with it! :D

Audi are understated and simple. I wouldn't knock that interior, it's just not to my taste. It's the same as the overall styling. One screams its intentions to all and the other, the S3 just does it a little differently. Not quite the same animal and aimed at a buyer with different priorities.

Sorry I have to disagree. I think that looks hideous. Don't know what on earth they were thinking with those lights. Lexus have always been boring, drab, overpriced cars which don't really have a market.

Hahahahaha, this looks so cheap and nasty. I remember my parents old CR-V and how terribly made that was, plastic everywhere. This looks no different, the only difference being they've followed the crowd and gone down the touch screen route because everyone is using them now.

Vulgar, chavvy and a harder ride than a pornstar. No thanks.

40.

Just like what the Germans have give us for years then too.

No one can call the 3 Series or even the new A4 particularly exciting styling wise.

The 3 series looks significantly better looking than that Lexus. It might not be as well made, but styling wise it looks more professional with better symmetry than any mid range Lexus. And at the end of the day, it's all about the symmetry.

It has bad styling "Points/Areas" like all cars,l dont like the vents on the front wings nor the front Fogs or the red leather on the steering wheel but elsewhere it looks very nice indeed for a 5 door Hatchback.

l aint into slagging cars off that l havnt personally driven/been seated in,not my bag.

Just for you Audi S3 owners thinking about changing to this car lol,it can be optioned without the Red inserts on the steering wheel..but just been on the confgurator it has a £2,500 odds exterior carbon fibre package, plus a few others, its not cheap,My 58 plate Honda Civic Type R GT/Nav/19"rage alloys cost me "£20k" crazy.

Depends what you're in to. Too in your face for me.
And I'm 19!
