Quick Driveshaft removal Q

I'm replacing the passenger hub carrier on my b6 Avant and so far have looked at the 17mm hex socket and discovered I have nothing that will fit but have ordered one for tomorrow.

Question is, is the bolt clockwise or anti-clockwise thread? I know it sounds like a stupid question, but im sure one of my many older cars had different threads on different sides.
