Me personally l have better things to worry about than my cars depreciation and all that you state about this "gate thing",lifes too short for stuff like this.
Out of interest, does anyone know if the 2.0TDI engines used in the US are produced in the US or are they produced in the same Audi factory in Hungary as all the 2.0TDI engines used in Europe in Audi, VW, SEAT and Skoda models.

I am not 100% sure but the engine you have is different, if it has no additive filler next to the fuel filler then you're fine...All I have got so far is its Type EA189 R4 Common Rail TDI engines 2009 onwards, worldwide
Why talk negatively about the shareholders? - it's not their fault. We are so so sorry that our shareholders wont be getting their dividend this year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't see that reported. Which guy is it - Germany or US.?The CEO is standing down, although no doubt he gets a nice pay off.
It affects some cars without adblue (hence no filler), in fact most of those sold in the US affected don't have adblue. Not really possible to say at this stage which, if any, EU cars are affected.I am not 100% sure but the engine you have is different, if it has no additive filler next to the fuel filler then you're fine...

Maybe one positive outcome from this. People will realise that the whole diesel issue has been hype. It's filthy stuff. Maybe low on CO2 but it's the particulates that make our cities stink.
Exactly, and the smog haze in many cities is mostly from NOx emissions, which diesels are particularly bad for.Maybe one positive outcome from this. And what do you suggest we do about all the lorries, buses and trains that also powered by large diesel engines. Ban them all from cities?Exactly, and the smog haze in many cities is mostly from NOx emissions, which diesels are particularly bad for.
I'm open minded about most things and that includes global warming.

Yes, they've started doing it in Central London. And what do you suggest we do about all the lorries, buses and trains that also powered by large diesel engines. Ban them all from cities?
