Could be a while. lol The new wheels and associated badges are arriving tomorrow hopefully.

My plan is to go to GTI Inters with the car as it is, as I prefer to run 19s down the 1/4 miles. I'm going up against fellow member DesertStorm in his A4 TDI quattro, running hybrid turbo, so I doubt I have much of a chance! :racer:

Then I will get all the bits on for my final look, in time for Audi's in the Park! :)

Also ordered a whole lot of black badges from eBay to replace the chrome ones. Hope it will look ok.

Nice! Eagerly awaiting pics

Leave the 20's on Jojo it won't be that much slower :) . I have upgraded to 18's on my car from 17's,can't say I have really noticed the difference but the wheels are not too heavy at 20Kg wheel and tyre combined , 245/40/18 GY Eagle F1 tyres.
Just out of interest what is the weight difference between the 19's and 20's.
Take it these are the wheels you have

Eeeeerm, originals are aluminium, the aftermarket jobbies are replicas, so I can only presume they are heavier? I've not picked either wheels up yet!

The link you posted up were where I was going to buy them from, but the company are very slow to respond, like they're not interested in selling me a set of wheels. Ended up going to my local alloy shop, Wheelmania, they was £20 more expensive, but got me the wheels and tyres pretty much overnight!

It's OK as it's only flat at the bottom.Tyres don't usually go down unless they have an issue, have you picked up a nail or something in the tread ?
Good job you have those monster new ones to put on the car.

It was zero PSI, I pumped it upto 28, then left it for an hour, 23psi! :(

New wheels are residing in my living room atm, awaiting a few coats of poorboys wheel wax, to protect the polished face. They are heavy! over 20kgs each wheel with tyre. I'll try and do a proper measurement when I get a chance.

Sounds like you have picked up a nail or screw in the tyre.
The 18 inch Pro race 1.2's with new GY tyres on my car weigh in at 20Kg each, the original 5 spoke S line 18 inch wheels my car came with weighed in at nearly 25Kg each. The tyres and wheels are all the same size. Be interesting to see how much the wheels on yours weigh, I suspect there won't be that much difference between the 19's and 20's.

Getting screwed!

Do you think I could do some mega power slides with this fitted?

Puncture fixed and normal services resumed. £25 for a puncture repair is a bit more expensive than I remember? lol Cheaper than a new tyre though...

I think you maybe right Karl, the 19" wheel with tyre on is as heavy as the 20" ones I have! Although I would need to weigh them both to confirm, as give or take 2kgs is very hard to measure on a 20kg item!
20s however, should have a heavier rolling mass, do to the metal being further outwards, so I will stick with the 19s on the sprint! :p

At least it was in the centre of the tread so repairable. £25 does sound expensive for a puncture repair, last one I had was around £15. But that wasn't for a big posh car with big wheels. So the owner obviously has bigger pockets :) .
Make sure you leave the spare in the boot when you come to GTI International.

I put my wheels on our bathroom scales, measures to the nearest 0.1Kg .

how come you didn`t get oem alloys Jojo ????

Ive been eyeing up a few sets in Germany but they are 2k ish inc delivery but have brand new tyres :)

I think the £1500 saving on a set of alloys is why Jojo hasn't gone OEM.
27.5Kg is not so bad, as I said earlier the standard 18 S Line wheels with 245/40/18 tyres were around 24.7Kg.

£25 seems to be the going rate, my wife's CMAX had a slow and the local Kwik fit fixed it, well I say fixed, they ripped off the tyre pressure monitor meaning I had to take it to the local dealer to get a new one fitted and programmed to the car £100 all in not to mention the hassle, but hey..... "It's all about the service" as their advertising states!

Because these are ET35, OEM ones are ET42/3? I don't have to buy spacers! Plus no one knows if they are genuine or not when fitted! You will more than likely see me swop to a new set of alloys when the tyres are almost down to the limiters. I went through 8 sets of alloys on my Passat, it's more cost effective for me this way.

And finally, I will be selling the car on the original 19s. :)

I just put a thread up about badge sizes as im looking to pick some of these up myself. Can i ask which sizes you went for? I've been struggling to confirm size without the car as there seem to be 3 sizes for the a6 which i assume vary on age. What year is yours again?

Hi, my A6 is a 2012 prefacelift model, got all my badges off eBay.

Black Rings, this is slightly bigger than the car one, by maybe 15-20mm, so I might try and either source the correct size, or if I can get the original one off in one piece, then I might try spray that one up! We will see.

S-Line wing badges. These are the correct size, I went with gloss black, most of the seller sell matt black versions.

Couldn't find the 'TDI' in black with the correct font, and I enquired about having 'BiTdi' made, but no one has a 'B' lol, I might even leave the TDI bit out altogether! :)

I have another mod in the pipeline, it's cosmetic, but hopefully it will work out! :)

This seems to be the limit of my A6 loading capacity! lol Despited being a foot longer than the B5 Passat Estate I replaced, it's carrying capacity is limited by the raked tailgate. Plus Audi felt the need to add 2" of plastic trim on the inside of the tailgate, so this is how things needed to be packed for it to close!

And the LED indicator bulbs from EM Tuning arrived also.

Don't mean to hijack your thread, but do you have a link to the LED indicators?

Thanks!

So taking my son home last night quite late in the A6, my son asked me what's the 0-60 time is this car dad? I told him around 4.9 secs, want to know what that feels like? :D

:D I think the A6 is now his favourite car! :D

My boy (2.5) loves anything with a siren, so much so that when we are coming up a slip road I've started to make a nee nah sound and drop a couple of gears and give it a gentle prod, so he now shouts "fast like ambulance" when we hit the same stretch of road.

He did it last week when in the car with his mum driving

I pulled the largest "really???" Face when she asked me about it.......

My daughter does a similar thing when we travel up a steep dual carriageway

She shouts 'faster up the hill daddy'

My missus thought she was lying when I told her until she was in the car and our daughter shouted at me to go faster lol
