Such an annoying rattle possibly engine related??

Hi, on cold start ups I get a really strange rattle kind of sounds like tappets some time will only last a few seconds sometimes it can last a little longer....if you give it a little Rev the pace of the tappet sound will get faster
If anyone has any idea what this is please let me know it's driving me insane!

Cold thick oil will affect the hydraulic valve gear and make them clicky or you're hearing noisy injectors.
An oil service will help if it's due or overdue soon
