S3 Engine rattle

Hi Guys My S3 is 4 years old and at 30,000 miles has been running really smoothly but now has just developed an engine rattle that kicks in at 3700 revs when the car is moving. It doesn't happen at those revs when stationary. Garage is baffled! Any ideas please?

Try on the 8V forum page as the 8P cars are now at least 7 years old.
