hi guys, my engine has started to rattle under low pressure on the accelerator in any gear, even neutral.. when I put my foot down harder it sounds brand new and no rattle can be heard.. any idea what this could be? It's like a rattle/tinny noise..

Any help would be much appreciated

Car is an Audi S3 8p, 2009

Do you know if the timing chain & tensioner has been replaced? If you hold the RPMs at out 2k is there a real rattle?

Had a slight rattle on my S3 before i did the cam belt. Its gone now after cambelt service.

Or its just the usual tfsi direct injection system, its the same as the diesel and you get that slight diesel rattle, its normal.
Dont rule out the above though as the post 2008 cars are prone to timing chain tensioner failure.
