Hi,

I have a A3 2006 2.0 170 TDI Quattro ( BMN ) - driving yesterday and after 2 minutes it cut out. I've read similar storeis of injectors shorting out causing similar symptoms.

Is the recall still on for the A3's? Also I got a VAGCOM read of the erros and it is pointing at the Camshaft sensor, the symptoms also match up to being a faults Camshaft sensor

The car behaves as if it's just about to start but won't

All guidance will be appreciated, thiis all happened at about 18:27 timestamp, the vehicle was not in use before this so not sure why the Lambda sensor is showing an error

I am not an expert but from experience I would say if VCDS says camshaft position sensor then that's your problem. There was an Injector recall but most cars would have been done years ago so unless yours has been out of anything resembling the dealer network for years, then it's probably been done. Dealer tend not to make it in the service book but if you phone them up they can sometimes find it on the computer and confirm it. If it hasn't been done it's worth getting it done as from memory if you get a problem with one it shuts the whole system down, so they change the injectors and wiring harness, then each is in effect wired separately. I doubt if you had an injector problem it would show the codes you have so again I would tend to suspect the camshaft sensor. others may come along with more experience/ideas though.

Just thought I'd provide an update.

The timing belt jumped 1 tooth. I changed the tension, water pump and belt in curtsy. The image shows the loose tensioner!!!!!!!!!

Back in business ripping it around corners. :nogarors4::haha:
