Hi guys

Just had some work done on my A4 2.0tfsi witch included a new clutch/release bearing and 1st,5th and reverse sincros and a inner bearing on the gearbox.

Reason for this work was I had the common problem of hard to select 1st/reverse sometimes and was doing my head In.

Now works done that problem has gone but I now have what sounds like a bad wheel bearing. When picking the car up they said about a bad wheel bearing. I know the drivers cv is shot but there wernt no such sound when I took the car In.

Noise gets louder the faster you go. Don't change sound if you turn left or right no matter how hard or fast you turn.

Any advice? I'm ringing the garage tomorrow.

Cheers

It's probably where they disturbed the wheel bearings when pulling apart the drive shafts from the transmission. It may be the The CV joint has caused excessive loading on the bearing causing the noise.
