Glovebox ipod connection trouble.

Hey folks.

Had a look for solutions On site but couldn't find what I was looking for.
Maybe I just wasn't looking in the right places.

I recently picked up my S3 8p and it comes with the glovebox iPod connection.
I have a 3rd gen iPod nano, which fits right in the connector, but I can't get it to play through the headunit.
Am I missing something simple, or is it me that's simple.
Its a Symphony head unit.

Its the first time I've had one of these connectors so am just at a bit of a loss.
Any help would be much appreciated.

What you need to do is press the CD button a few times till you get to CD changer. The Symphony picks the Ipod up as a CD changer.

My bad though. Its not the symphony its the Concert HU.
Tried what you suggested, it just seems to skip over to Ext Aux for some reason.

The Nano says it's connected on the iPod screen, but still no joy.
I'm obviously being a tard somewhere.

I wouldnt worry about it, they don't work properly anyway. You get multiple 'CD' options when connection, cd1 plays the first folder, cd2, the second, and cd3 - all of the tracks on the ipod in a single order - or something like that. No folder names, no ability to move through the contents properly - Its ridiculous - how it got into production I have no idea.

Just buy an AMI unit to play your Ipod properly or use the AUX port.

May not be related but my touch stopped being recognised after an apple update, never managed to get it working again.

Have you an Auto CD changer fitted in the car as well? May not see your ipod if this is also connected.

I just decided to say F it.
Bought an aux cable. Plugged it in by the arm rest and bobs your uncle.
Have to manually select via iPod but no such a hardship.
Save some pennies and get an Rns e eventually.
